Faculty and students at the Lancaster High School have been enjoying the newly renovated music prep space, auxiliary athletic space, multi-purpose space and the black box theater. Picone Construction Corp. was a prime contractor for this project. "Our portfolio is growing in the educational K-12 markets, and it's a market that we're proud to be a part of," said Picone Construction Vice President, Chris Picone. We have completed work at St. Gregory the Great Church which includes restored terrazzo tile floor, carpeting, painting, millwork restoration, asbestos removal, pillar repair, new pews, new lighting. This project is mentioned in the top stories section of the July edition of the WNY Catholic paper.
The Buffalo Museum of Science Observatory won Buffalo Business First's Brick by Brick Award for Best Renovation. We are pleased and honored to accept this award and to join past recipients. The architect for this project was HHL Architects. Thank you to the vendors involved.

Picone Construction was named as the 17th largest General Contractor in the area while also being named the 32nd longest owned family business. Carmax in Buffalo is now open in Amherst, NY. Picone Construction was part of a massive ongoing project regarding the Richardson Olmstead Campus with the complex being named one of three winners for the 2018 Driehaus Preservation Awards. The project was nominated for national recognition with two other projects from Oklahoma City, OK and Memphis Tennessee. Congratulations to all of the winners.
Picone Construction has completed renovations at Arby's Restaurant, 6845 Main St, Williamsville, NY. Work included select demolition, foundations, flatwork, rebar, masonry, carpentry, millwork, roofing, doors and frames, aluminum storefront, hardware, gypsum and acoustical ceiling tiles, EIFS, ceramic tile, painting and wall covering, restrooms, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and installation of food service equipment.
The architect of record is Red Architecture and Planning.
Picone Construction Corp. has been awarded the general construction contract for renovations and repairs to the Clarence Historical Society's 200 year old landmark building. Located at 10465 Main St, Clarence NY, major work includes demolition, temporary walls, carpentry, millwork, solid surface work, wood windows, trim, metal doors and frames, drywall partitions, acoustic ceilings and cloud systems, vinyl compression tile, carpet, painting, HVAC and electrical. All work was complete by March of 2019.

The award recognized the best in Restaurant and Retail this year, with the Whole Foods new build and fit out taking home the honors. Picone Construction has completed Sisters of Charity Hospital - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) relocation and expansion. The $8.8 million NICU relocation expanded from 20 beds to 40 beds. The additional 21,000 square foot NICU was relocated adjacent to the hospital's inpatient maternity unit and newborn nursery, creating a centralized location for mother-baby care. Additionally included were single family rooms to enhance individual care, large central technology hub, dedicated "parents-only" space for overnight accommodations for families, and reduced light and sound control to create a more soothing environment for premature babies. The Architect of record was Kideney Architects. Picone Construction has completed renovations at Arby's Restaurant, 5737 S Transit Rd, Lockport, NY 14094. Work included select demolition, concrete patching, rebar, masonry, steel, carpentry, roofing, metal doors and frames, aluminum storefronts, gypsum/acoustical, EIFS, ceramic tile, painting and wallcovering, toilet room furnishings, installation of food service equipment, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, banding around building, installation of prefabricated metal accent post, removal and installation of furniture, and install drive-thru window with canopy. The architect of record was Best Brothers Development. The work at Whole Foods Market in Amherst has been complete. Read the latest on the Buffalo Museum of Science Observatory by Buffalo Business First. The $1.2 million project will be unveiled in July and be open to the public for the first time since 1999. Marissa Wigglesworth credited the good work of contractors HHL Architects and Picone Construction saying that both companies were "great collaborators in trying to work through this very complex problem for us." Fast forward . . .The unveiling of the Buffalo Museum of Science observatory was unveiled in July. Several were in attendance for the opening, including City of Buffalo mayor Byron Brown. You can see some of the great photos of the event in the slideshow below. Picone Construction has been named the General Contractor for the expansion of 42 North Brewing Company at 25 Pine St. in the Village of East Aurora. The proposed expansion consists of the demolition of an adjacent apartment building to expand the current brewery for larger cooler space, an area for a canning unit to place larger quantities of beer into cans for distribution, meeting room, office space, and four hotel/Airbnb rental units.
After village approval, demolition can begin as the brewery and beer garden remain open for the summer. Construction will continue with completion in early 2019.The Architect of Record is Scheid Architectural. Picone Construction won Clarence Chamber of Commerce's Large Business of the Year award at this year's awards dinner. Picone Construction is very excited to be part of the Historic Jersey Street Firehouse project. Built in 1875 and rebuilt in 1917, the 2-1/2 story landmark stood vacant for many years. This $1.6 million project includes a restaurant/brewery, studio apartment and patio.
